Trying to get the spare wheel off the bonnet and the locking nut wouldn't budge. It's on the front most mount so I got an impact wrench on it and now the whole thing spins. Because of the wheel I can't see what's turning but it feels square and not a bolt.

Any ideas how I can get the wheel off :(

+1 for the grinder. You'll have to grind it off at some stage anyway, and it will save lots of time.

if its like mine, its mounted from under the bonnet, not bolted on top.

Lift bonnet, remove the lining hand have a look, the weld has probably given on the post so its spinning.

yours must be posh" remove the liner"

Mine's proper posh as it has a rear roof liner and carpets on the walls :)

anyhoo, I got it off. Using a mirror I could see that the wheel carrier is bolt onto two upright stems. Removing the wheels centre trim I could get at the bolts. Just need some help to get the carrier off the wheel now which shouldn't be too hard with molegrips.
