Hey everyone, so I changed out the old radio the previous owner had fitted as the cabling and sound was a mess, would cut out and wasn't wired into the ignition. I have wired it all as per Haynes manual and stereo harness cable etc, so all works fine.

However I have two cables left over, one yellow cable which is quite a thick gauge coming through on the righy the same route the aerial does behind the stereo. Also have a red and black cable coming in on the left hand side. Neither of these give 12v permanently or on ignition.

Anyone have any ideas? I can't find them on the wiring diagrams in Haynes?

Thanks
Jamie

ISO colour codes can be googled.

I used this picture for speakers cables, and the rest I knew on my ISO block.

it could be for any number of optional extra's or even added by a previous owner.
Have you thought of looking at a wiring harness diagram???

Have done as per above and Land Rover manual, it's no major issue ;) just curiosity more than anything as I couldn't pinpoint it.

If you have a cable with a two conductors one black the other red it could be the audio supply the the base amp (if you have one) positioned in the tailgate, these wires would normally be terminated on a flatish black plug with a chrome grounding strip (see pic below).

As for a single yellow wire there isn't one listed, the listed ones have a coloured trace ie. blue-yellow or black-yellow.

Ps. It would nice to know what model of disco u are talking about.

Hey, not sure on bass amp, can't even see any speakers in the rear to be honest, did the 3dr version have rear speakers? I have the rear speaker cables behind the dash, but can only assume they are part of the standard wiring loom when all the disco's where in the factory.

200tdi Disco 1, 3dr H Reg, :)
