Does anyone have a
phone number for SP Landrovers, other than this one 0151 425 4743 as nobody answers ever, well for the last 3 days anyway, as I bought some LED headlights from them and they project no
beam pattern and I'm really unimpressed, so it's looks like
I wont be buying my four doors from them if they can't be arsed to provide proper contact details and be available on a phone when there is an issue with something they have sold.

Just wondered if anyone here had an actual number that gets through,

Ooh... Which lights were they? I was looking at a couple of theirs this week on eBay and they're very cheap. I did notice the ones that look like truck man (I think?) ones have no e marking, so aren't going to be up to much,..

I bought the trucklite looking ones off them at LRO, and they are bright but just splodge light every where as there is no clear beam pattern.
Unless I've installed them wrong, they are crap, I took my 110 down a mates MOT place and checked them and he reckons they are upside down, but there is no way of rotating the unit 180 degrees as none of the ring fixings line up with the unit itself, only wanted to speak with them about how epically crap these units are lol

I can't open the link, but yeah they are the ones how you set a beam pattern is beyond me

You can't set a beam pattern with headlights - you get one or not. I guess a bit of tweaking with getting the bulb central or fixed but it's not like you can change the reflector around, and that's what gives the pattern. I suppose you could put those euro reflector stickers on, but not if they're brand new...

How about this link:

That worked, huh, I paid more at LRO than on thier website.
I have just had an email from them, no advise just asking which ones I bought.

The units are sealed, no messing with the cree bulb, only adjustment you have is the two screws for setting the alignment, and that's done very little.

Hmm... Special show prices eh! I hate that idea - it's such a lame, thinly veiled attempt at getting people to spend money on the day.
At least they've made contact - hope they sort something out for you...

Yeah, I'll see how it goes, I'll probably return them, as I and the garage messed about with them and they simply don't have a defined beam pattern achievable.which makes them less illuminating than the Wipac chrystals I removed. Maybe I'll try some other ones or simply they are installed wrong but no other way seems logical.

To be as honest as we can please note these are not E marked

Now IF they were fully open and honest they would clearly state that these lights are ILLEGAL to use on the roads in the UK

Yes they may pass a UK MOT, however the MOT does not look for E marks, they just check the function of the lights. MOT or no MOT these lights are illegal to use on UK roads. How does having illegal obligatory lights affect your motor insurance? Are you 100% sure that there is no little clause in your insurance policy saying you should keep your vehicle well maintained and legal?? Your insurance is invalid??

I never bought them online, I bought them directly from them at LRO, I never asked if they were E marked, and they never said they were not, for me that's not the issue, the issue is that they are not fit for purpose, from what I've seen so far, I'm not really that interested in yet another debate about what's illegal or legal lighting today.

Steady on big boy, I think it's been established that they're not keepers! :D

Do they have a brand on them? They must have sold lots of them by now - get your return done before they start getting inundated...

I will try to see if I have installed them wrong or maybe I need different fixing rings first, as I like the look of them, but if they don't work they will be returned.

But the garage tested each lamp on the beam analyser and couldn't see a pattern? As a sealed unit, no amount of wanting them to be better is going to help.
I know how you feel, but do your double checking and then get them returned if they don't give you 100% confidence.

Heh, yeah, it's definitely a case of wanting them to work, taken them on and off reconfigured as many ways as I can think of and still the result is crap.

that's a bit worrying, I would have assumed whether your lights are legal would be part of the mot test.
