hi to you all im keith and ive just bought a freelander td4 hse on an 05 plate very nice......
ive not got a great budget and im not that mechanicly minded but the stereo sound is very poor , the sub in the boot has a rumbling sound to it anything above low volume ???? and the door speakers have bad vibration if the sound is turned up its an harman kardon system any ideas to improve would be gratefull please ......... and it has a built in sat nav could i rip this out and replace with an after market head unit ? thank you

Hi, yes it can be done, but do a search of other stereo threads here, the HK system with the sub in the boot might have a different wiring setup than a standard head unit and speakers.

Without knowing exactly what you have its hard to advise but read a few other threads and I'm sure it will have been covered before...
 
if its a budget system look at fly speakers they r made by vibe u get good sound with out breaking the bank i have fitted them a few times for my self and friends and never had a prob with them well worth the ££
 
what power was u running thur them to blow them?? i was running 150watts thur speakers with a max of 175watts for at least 2yrs no probs and running door speakers from head unit 4x 50watts no probs same amount of time
 
was fly door speakers running from a sony head unit 50x4 but i do have a rather loud sub so easy to miss the sounds of a speaker reaching its limit
