My freelander has developed a wierd sound from the engine bay. I was wondering of there is anyone who might know what the sound is. here is a link to hear the sound its making:

Yep.....What you got there young one is the sound of an engine When you have stopped laughing...... Its sounds like one of the pulley wheels maybe the bearings are on the way out.. Probably the crank pulley bearing. How good are the belts? are they all cracked on the inside?

As above crank pulley delaminating, when you come to purchase a new one use only Corteco link below, any others do not last long, peel back the arch liner driver side and take look, keep all fingers and hands from the moving parts, you may see steel dust I that area also that is another good indicator for crank pulley.
