I’m out! Engine management and traction control lights are on and it’s in limp home mode (which I now realise is also why it wouldn’t drive out when it should have). No video of the recovery unfortunately, it was pitch black by the time I got out.

I’ve got a gap tool on me so I’ll plug it in tomorrow and hopefully it’s something I can sort out and carry on my journey (no more off-roading though!)

Live and learn. I highly recommend having a Tirfor winch in the back if going off road. TU16 or above. Some sort of anchor and tree huggers would be good too.
