My oldie has a few areas of rust bubbles that have developed over the years; nothing serious but its about time they were sorted.

I want to try and do this myself, partly to save cost, to get it done when I want it done and as a learning curve. Never done any bodywork like this before so after a few pointers would not go amis.

Areas concerned:
Nearside front wing; very light blistering
Doors - area beneath the window (all 4 doors)

Ive got myself some primer, Vactan rust remover, marine blue paint and laquer.

Can anyone talk me through the A, B, C's of doing this, or point me in the direction of some suitable links online?

sorry to burst your blister but this is not rust (well not in the steel rust way) this is a corrosion on the aluminium caused by being in contact with a dissimilar metal (in this case steel) there's not a lot you can do about it and every land rover from a series 1 to a defender puma will show this sort of corrosion at some time in its life.
To prevent this in the first place you have to place something between the two metals (a paste,paint,plastic etc.) but as yours and all of ours have succumbed to this already. there's not a lot we can do except rubbing it down, filling it and painting it but it will only be a temporary measure as it will come back.
we all have to live with it or spend lots of money fitting new panels.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't defender doors made of corrosion resistant steel?

The new defenders have steel door skins but everything else since they first started putting doors on has been aluminium skin on a steel frame, hence the corrosion as explained by ormondstreet above.

Questions stands, whats the A, B, C's of sorting this?

Wire brush clean and dry, ally filler (what type), prime U-POL ACID 8?), paint, laquer? Am I missing anything? Any recomendations for ally filler?

Don't use a wire brush on aluminium - it'll scratch it to fook.

You need an etch primer on bare aluminium.
