You're not wrong, it does have bellows and a pipe to the brake pedal. And yes, 9 times out of 10 it is the pipes leaking/split.
As a matter of course, I would change all the pipes before even starting any other fault finding as there's a very good chance it will fix it. If it doesn't, at least you know the pipes are good and you can then look at the electrics

the ABS pump has now failed ... it has finally given up its ghost to the WABCO ABS gods...
went for a test run and then when going thru the workshop diagnostics = bam ... 3 amigos ...
old accumulator at fault < had never been replaced by previous owner .. so the ABS pump was overloading and why the original relay was being caned ..
good s/h tested ABS pump unit obtained from RDC ..
new WABCO accumulator is now fitted
plus new ABS sensor in offside front
new rear brakes : pads discs & calipers
and a complete fluid refresh & proper bleed sequence < ques any reason to use DOT 5 ? >

and we should be back to be able to stop ..

next move Ark Royal ...

Bad luck. The accumulator isn't that expensive but the pump costs a bomb. Paying the cost of bad maintenance. Sounds like you're getting on top of it though so well done.

My step-father once dropped his car off at Perrys in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire for a full service. Had to to get the full Ford Service History in those days. Only when he went to pick it up did he realise he'd walked off with the keys leaving it locked. Sure enough the car hadn't moved an inch and the filter was as dirty and ugly as it had been when he dropped it off. They still tried to charge him for a full service when he went inside and even claimed they'd changed the spark plugs ... it was a diesel!
