Hi I havent been on for a while but I have been told my 1963 series 2a has to go im gutted. Ive put a perkings 2.0ltr turbo diesel in about 4 years ago but just realised ive not had the logbook back from dvla an its still registered as a petrol is this gonna give me probs. All the mots have got diesel on them but dont remember having me log book back.Any help would be appreciated as id like to get it sorted to sell.

you ought to have got a replacement one anyway when they changed the style of them a couple of years ago iirc when a load of blank forms got nicked, I would just apply for a replacement and then advise of the change of engine and fuel type.

I know you got to be brave to drive a series but im not suicidal:)

Been uttering that sentiment for nearly 20 years now as necessary... it's never pleasant but when your partner runs your life to that point it's time for a reckoning...

Sad as well to hear you moving it on, though. Take lots of pictures and blow up 1 or 2 to hang on the wall to remind you of happier times.

How much, you got pics and full details of it? Location?

Havent thought of price its 1963 series2a with a montego 2ltr turbo diesel overdrive an free wheel hubs. Rewired most of the electrics with fuse box under bonnet and one running extras like kenlow fan and all lights on the dash. Half leather recaro seats an harnesses series 2 lights an series 3 wings an lights. Extra set of new wheels still in wrap and new inertubes. New wrap around bullbar never fitted full galv roofrack with ladder. Plus lots of other odds an sods like bench seats (not matching pair) an I think I still got a set of 4 techno folding seats. Its x military so has 2 tanks (only use 1 now its diesel) still got old petrol engine but its been left outside for about 4 years so not much good.and tberes a set of parabollox front an back. Bad points is its on sorn mot run out an wants paint also needs patch on bulkhead passenger side on top of the crease. I am in middle of painting and will be moting it.
An im in south wales about 12 miles from cardiff. Prob more but its depressing me thinking now lol.

You have to consider is it required to sell for particular reason , if its just because she's decided she doesnt want one , then you need to have a good talk with her. This life is the only one you get its not a rehearsal , and that applies to her as well , once you go down the controlled path it can get very steep !! JMHO

No she is right since I got me own business 18 months ago ive prob used it 5 times I just dont get any time. I have to see sense but its hard as I got hit off me motorbike last month an injured me leg so cant have a bike either. Both pride and joy at same time makes it harder.

Keep the Landy. There'll come a time when your business will allow you to play with it again and she may come round to thinking that you should have some fun in your life and not be henpecked into doing things that you are obviously reluctant to do. I got a divorce from my first wife 'cos she was a control freak. This present wife just shakes her head and says something like "men"!! Having said that she enjoys going laning but screams a bit on the really rough bits.

i ONLY part with my toys if I want to or HAVE to, replacing them with something similarly enjoyable at a later date is never as easy as it may seem
especially if the toy you're thinking of selling is one you've built yourself (been there, done that)

i've three landrovers (only one on the road) plus a motorcycle but they're MY toys, i really don't want my weekends taken up with watching repeats of Emmerdale and the like so regardless of thier usability i'll be keeping my toys
