Got a 51 plate td4 for several month now it starts and other times it just clicks wwhich resets the trip meter and kicks the fans in any ideas ?

Hi there,
Your battery is on borrowed time. It is taking all that it has to start the car, nothing left for the bits that are left. Trip will Zero. Same probs over the last few months until the battery finally failed to turn the engine. New battery and all is OK.

Thanks for the info chaps have to get a new battery and try it and then the dog won't have to share the boot with a boost pack!

If you are using a boost pack then you know your battery is done for! Another problem with low battery is the radio searching each time you switch it on. No volts left for its memory, just like the trip meter.

I would agree with previous posts sounds like the battery is on the way out :boom:. It is a common fault/diagnose on other cars not just FL.

Not so these days. NVM (Non-volatile memory) is used on radios etc.

Haven't had to retune a radio for years and years after disconnecting a battery......;)

New battery fitted fires up better than ever the old one lied to me as it still showed green meaning it was ok I hate liars!!!!!! Anyway thank you all for the help.
