not lifesaving or urgent.... but....

driving some country lanes in the peak district yesterday - yes official roads ......
there so many bloody cyclist without concern just looking behind themselves and careless going in the middle of the roads. lol.

i tried to find any wrap around or full bull / ram bars for the range rover.

yes i have to admit scratches dents or light replacing isnt for me an option for others not to care.
and i remember the full wrap around bar on my pajero scared people off coming to close or stay in the middle of the road and carry on chatting about the weather. ha ha

there is nothing available, well at least not second hand and cheap.

are there anything specific for the p38 or would any of the discos or defenders fit the p38?
anyone knows ??

i seen loads for pajeros, shoguns etc going cheap but would the fit or even suit the p38?

i just dont want to go miles to hold it on and find out to big or to small or even loos ugly.

and with being pre 2004 there was no regulations on them bars.
 
The front bar market died a death as they became socially unacceptable as they were not good when you knocked over pedestrians, range rover did a soft coated a bar one with bolt on sides but they are few and far between and most likely knackered by now or eye wateringly expensive and the new aftermarket companys gave up production as sale droped.
 
Yes I seen that. Hence my question.
I see.loads for discos or defenders just not sure if the fit.
A range rover one - if you find one is bend and rusted to death and still want 400 for it.
Used defender. Disco or shogun ones going for about 50.

I actually looking for one covering the lights and indicators too not just a show thingy.


Well tbf I dont care of social opinion . I care about me replacing parts other damage because they think it's ok being careless.
It can be seen as protection against wildlife if you like. Wild running accross the roads lol
 
I know. But I'm crap with a welder.
If a discovery or defender bar fits I would go for one. Lol
 
H frame chassis is similar but doubt they’d fit without bit of welding.

Light protectors are easily available but about the same price as whole 4.0 P38. Fitting kits are bit harder to find.

Rock sliders/tree bars, underguards etc are available from a firm called Terrafirma. Set of the tree bars is what I would have if wasn’t poor.
 
Metal bull bars are Illegal

Plastic ones are ok but make the front look a bit gopping :confused:

In my opinion, especially when they're stained white from the sun :oops:
 
with the amount of damage a bull bar can do to the front of your own car in a small bump i would save the money to buy new lamps when needed
 
I’ve got no extra protection had many a smash with fence posts brick walls you name it. Not made shred difference.

You may have a metal bull bar as long as it is an original fitment before 2007.

All my Defenders had metal wraparound bars, one I bought in 2014 that didn't have one, I bought the correct fitment secondhand and fitted that, as it was an original fitted part back in 1988 when the vehicle was made it was legal to fit one.

All NEW bullbars must meet the new requirements of pedestrian and crash safety tests....and as such no NEW metal bull bars are available.

Ugly, pointless & posy for tarmac based vehicles … also pretty good at bending the vehicle's frame should those (few) genuine off-road drivers hit anything solid.
I've had three RRC's with the bloody things on when I purchased the vehicles, all came off PDQ.
