I'm happy that the new handbrake shoes have bedded in now so I tried adjusting the cable right. Pulled the switch panel off, took a look under the handbrake lever and saw:
  • cable disappearing into a metal tube (with threads and groove on the outside)
  • bracket for securing handbrake lever assembly
  • transmission tunnel
Didn't see:
  • adjuster nut
  • clip for retaining adjuster nut
:(

The parts sites keep showing me pictures of the drum end of things whenever I look for an adjuster so does anyone know the part numbers ? I really would like more than one spare click on the lever

Yes, there's a 17mm bolt on the drum backplate (which I'm now very familiar with) that adjusts the bottom end of the shoes.

The cable (which operates the top end of the shoes) should be adjusted under the lever according to Haynes. I've seen pictures of a large turny wheel thing under the lever and seen diagrams in the workshop PDF that show "Adjuster" and "Retaining Clip" (though annoyingly without part numbers )

Anyone ?

Hmmm.

My 200 never had adjustment at the lever but ah yes it has just come to me it was adjusted at the drum end using a threaded portion on the cable.

Being fixed cable at the drum the 300 must be at the lever end!

Check underneath just to be sure??

you adjust shoes then cable , 200 does have adjustment on cable at the bracket in front of hand brake assembly ,300 has a black turn buckle where cable comes through tunnel can be adjusted by removing switch panel
