The question usually ends with 'regardless of fault'. I was stiffed with this when I first started driving and someone hit me although that was quite a long time ago.

The theory is that someone who has been involved in an accident is more likely to have another one. A stupid flawed theory, but one they seem to use. You can't argue with statistics apparently.

Never heard of that and never had that problem when I had the fiesta.. or after the bump I had in me maestro van.

Erm no that only happens if the claim was against you.?? otherwise you answer no because you haven't had any insurance claim against you. It's why Insurance companies are so quick to settle claims with a knock for knock agreement. cos then both parties get screwed for higher premiums.

Sorry, but even a NON-FAULT CLAIM will hike you premium. In fact, even a NON-FAULT INCIDENT will do the same!!

I had someone go into the back of me several years ago now. I didn't claim on my insurance, but did call to let them know (how foolish!) but then settled it for cash. Come renewal time, they asked "Any claims or convictions in last 5 years, regardless of fault" (which they all ask) and I rightly said no.

Got to the end of my quote and something flagged up on their system saying a "no-fault claim" that previous yes - put my premium up £70. After a lot of arguing they refused to lower it, so I went elsewhere. But by involving the insurers you will keep your NCD but WILL see an increase in your premium, I promise.

Second that! I had he same last year before i got the rangie. Say f'all to the insurance if possible! That's where helphire can come in!

insurance companies are legalised theives in my opinion. they hike your premium if someone who lives near you has a major claim !!

i used to have one of those jap import people carrier vans first year cost £250 then second year the best quote i could get was over £700.. i had not claim anything.. they told me that there was more of these vehicles being insured in my area so they had to put the cost up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

inquired about a theft from my mota. That sent the premium up the next year.I sed to them how much did i claim then, they had no answer. So dropped it.Went elese where. They had been told about the incident cos its on a national computer.I couldnt leave em even tho they cocked up.Bastids.
