Really pleased so far!

Going to add a standard rear step, if I can find one, spot light bar on front bumper with some 9 inch lamps

and possibly a snorkal.

What do you reckon so far?

you ought to start another list ,"work to be done"

work to be done

both inner wings
both sills
boot floor

All solid! My MOT man looked at it last week, its mint underneath, never been off road. I go the log book back and wrote to the 1 previous owner, its been garaged when not in use, never seen mud, hence the condition.

It cost £1600.:)

Great looking disco good price, ive been after a good 300tdi fer a while ever since getting rid of me V8 :(

Where did you get the parcel nets? Ive got a seven seater and fixed to the back of the second row seats would work a treat. I take it just self tappers.

I had just about given up on finding a good cheap 300tdi, and was going to have to raise the budget by £700 > £800, then this one turned up. It was in a local garage as a trade in, £1600 take it or leave it, short mot, oil leaks, perished 8 year old tires, small rot patch on arch as shown, so had to have it!

Have you any close up pics of your spot lamps, they look just the ones Im after..

best get the wheel arch sorted before next mot.
within 12" of seatbelt mount!
otherwise looks nice

Sound odd, but, go to your local BMW dealer, ask for parcel net for a Z3. They are £11 + vat, + 20p each for the carpet clips, but you could use p clips and self tappers.

The large one on the rear floor is out of a Renault HGV1 artic! I drive as a living and sort of cough cough aquired it cough cough!!;););)

hate to be a sourpuss, but, that hole in the rear wing would get my alarm bells ringing, especially as it's very close to the rear seat belt anchor ( I know thare has been lots of debate about this on here) and as such could do with being repaired, the panels only about £30 so it would be high on my list.
as for sills etc, they'll go whether it goes for a play or not.

welcome to the dissolving car club,
thing about rust is if you leave it for a moment it'll run riot all over your pride and joy, that is the biggest problem with D1's, and to add insult to injury it'll do it under cover of those shiny ally panels.

The two BMW ones would be fine. Dumb ass question but you have done it and I aint, and it will have to come via the diplomatic holiday in England suitcase. How many carpet clips ? Im thinking 10 for two nets.

4 clips per net is fine, they are plastic carpet ones, quite a course thread that you just screw into carpet, takes 2 mins to fit. :)

Quick update, had the arch done and painted by a mate, all underside steamed and waxoiled black, 9 inch spots fitted on front (straight to bumper), and today, IT PASSED ITS MOT!!! :pop2:

Got one advise on slight wear on rear wheel bearing near side, but otherwise all good!

Well happy, well chuffed for a risk of £1600 on a cheap Disco.

:pop2::pop2:

Ian.
