Check the following picture.

Hurstclough lane is one of my favourites being tight, technical, slippery and steep(ish). Sough Lane is lovely, if a bit bumpy and lumpy with rocks and tight through a gate, with great views at the top. HayDale is quite nice but can get very wet and slippery.

This is the notice put out by Glass ..

Below is a list of Derbyshire route Definitive Map Modification Orders which during 2015 were determined and confirmed by the Planning Inspectorate following objections and public inquires.
Although it often seems like we are losing many vehicular rights of way in the Peak District, GLASS reps and our colleagues in PDVUG and TRF do have Public Inquiry successes in the Peak District National Park.

Good news on the face of it but PDNPA are still pushing for a permanent TRO on Hurstclough Lane due to perceived issues with drainage/damage, archaeological reasons and safety issues amongst others. Despite the BOAT status we're not out of the woods with this one yet :(

Agreed. However proper BOAT status has to count for something more than 'just another track'. To be fair, some of it does get rutted due mostly, as it's rock underneath and foliage mulch on top, water erosion rather than traffic. At one time it looks to me like it was tarmac, so some big erosion has occurred at some point and the tarmac layer that's left is now a step!!
