Well, after several sceptical posts on here about what my 2001 td5 ES manual 7 seater was actually worth, and being told that I'd be lucky to get 4500-5000 for it, I sold it on sunday for 7600.
Well there are people out there that are prepared to pay good money irrespective of the scare regarding future tax costs.
I advertised it on autotrader and got nothing but scam emails from black fookers in nigeria claiming their name was John Wilson or Paddy O'Rourke, so wacked it on ebay with a start price of 4500.
I didnt even have to let the auction run its course, sold before the end. So, even after being told that the glass's guide price for august was trade £6420 and retail £8845, some folks said that was bollocks and it was only worth £4500-£5000, it proves that if you price it right without giving it away, you'll sell it.
The problem is that there are too many people out there that think they can **** you wholesale because its a gas gussling high tax motor, when in actual fact its a quality motor that is worth the money.
Sorry to see it go but I decided to let the vat man start paying a bit towards the running of a vehicle and now have one of these:
Still got the series III 88 though
