Run a 4mm wire from the battery via a fuse to the boot. I ran mine along the chassis rail in a protective tube. Useful for lots of things as long as you remember not to run the battery down:eek:

Hmm, that sounds useful. I'd better have a look to see if I've got one.

I think they all have one, rear offside next to the little plastic cover for the emergency fuel flap release:D

Ahh, No! don't even have the emergency fuel flap cover  Are you LHD or RHD? is the fuel filler on the right hand side?

All that's in my RHD 98MY DSE is the plastic cover to get at the light bulbs.
Unless it's behind where the Subwoofer cover is.

It's RHD fuel filler on the right, thats the same plastic cover. If your fuel flap release is electric from a button on the dash then there should be a cord behind the plastic flap to manually release the fuel flap. The socket on mine and 2 others I have seen is just in front of that plastic cover in the boot lineing, maybe it was an option? Easy enough to fit one the sockets are not expensive.

Hi

I have a 20w unit on my roof, connected directly to 2 batteries. No problems. Car stands for up to 2 weeks at a time. Always starts. Ran the wire on the side of the windscreen behind that plastic strip thingy on the driver side.

On your roof?

Had a look in mine.

Can't see any covers at all except for the one for the bulbs. So presumably no emergency release for the fuel filler either...

Hmm
