Hello,

I kind of fancy turning my 90 into a soft top, but I'm not too sure what's involved in making it safe. Obviously the roof would come off and I could sell that along with station wagon sides, but would I need to fit a roll bar in order to keep it strong with a canvas back, or is there anything else that I could do?

Does anybody know where I can buy a cheap roll bar that's easy to fit!?

I wunt mind doing the same but aren't sure, it's the security bit that worries me. You don't necessarily need a roll bar just somewhere to bolt yer seatbelts to. The canvas comes with the hoops an stuff but int cheap if you buy it new.

The military roll hooops sometimes come up on flea-bay. They fit with the canvas and incorporate seat belt mounts.
Alternatively, Exmoor do seatbelts designed to fit to the top of the centre bulkhead.

I like the look of the canvas back pickup style roof. What happens if I roll it though? The doors and the windscreen would not support the impact
