Hello All,
I have a soft nudge bar on the front of my 2004 discovery td5 , and I think I would like to remove it.
Can anyone tell me how I would tidy up the holes that I assume are going to be left when it comes off.
Looking at the fitting instructions that I’ve seen on line they seem to be quite large . I was wondering if anyone had done this before and if its possible to get blind grommets or something similar that large or is it possible to get a new centre plastic section for the bumper cover ?

Many thanks for any replies in advance.
Cheers
Tom

If you mean one like this,

mine was fixed on with M8 x 150 bolts, access to the nuts behind is a bit difficult, you may not see them, but reach up and feel around for them, fairly sure you will only get a spanner up there, mine were rusted tight though. There was 2 holes about 10mm on the front bumper.

Many thanks for your replies,
I've just managed to get it off , as you say its quite hard to get a spanner on the back & i don't know how they got it on because the bolt is pushed through from the inside outwards and will only push back through about an inch and a half . However I think it looks nicer off the vehicle and the holes left in the bumper plastic aren't too large so ill try to get a grommet to fill it. ( I was a bit concerned about this before I took it off as I found the fitting instructions online and it said to use a 33mm hole saw on the bumper to mount the bar but as you say it's only around 10mm).

It has headlight guards fitted also which I think look quite nice and i'll leave those on because ill have to get the holes on the wings filled and repainted , Anyway many thanks again

Mine is a G4 and that nudge bar would have been fitted from new, but it feels flimsy and appears to be a p1ss poor job. I did leave mine off for a few days, but the holes in the bumper looked unsightly. The light guards removed will leave holes in the wings and the radiator grille.

Those nudge bars beside that they are ugly they restrict the air flow through the grille which is bad for the engine
