So I have my late defender which I have been using for every job as it is so fantastic. The trouble is I’m just putting so many miles on it. I want something cheaper that I can use the 15,000 miles (town/ motorway) that I clock up a year.

I’m torn about hunting hard for a good Disco 2 TD5 which I feel is easier to maintain and fix or throwing caution to the wind and buying a tidy Disco 4 which scares me shafting me with the crankshaft.Looking for a keeper. Thoughts because I just can’t make up my usually very decisive mind. Thoughts?

Audi a6 c6 avant can be had cheap. The allroad is pretty good, no worse on air suspension than a D4

maybe a D2 with a galv chassis, if it had a chassis then any other welding it may need, is probably already done
