I’m aware that the year that the headlamps moved into the wings on the 2a was 1968, however I seem to be getting conflicting info. Some places I see 1968 everywhere, some 1968 only on export and 1969 domestic.

My landy is a 1968 with the headlamps in the wings. The only thing I can think is that where it was MOD it was made with export specs? But then why the right hand drive?

As well as this I have holes in the side of the wings that someone on here a while back said wasn’t common and was a military thing and unlikely to have been added.

It’s definitely 1968, says so on the plate down by the transfer lever and all registration documents.

Can anyone shed light on this for me? If it turns out that it should be radiator panel lights then I would like to eventually change it to be so. I’m currently thinking that mine was on the cusp between rad panel and wings.

Cheers all

Also yes I’m aware I need to sort the surface rust on the wheels. I’m doing that on my next batch of days off hopefully, grind them and sand them down then paint them. It’s nagging at the back of my head.

Those are miltiary wings, they have the door stops in the wing so that the doors can swing all the way round, part number 304110, they push straight in. I like the bonnet lock arrangement, its neater than mine, unfortunately the PO made a big hole in the bonnet.

Thanks, I'm assuming military wings aren’t likely to have been changed since the fact that it was in MOD service so it should have been a headlamps in wing model from the factory? Thanks for the part number btw, might get some, even if only to plug the hole. Straight in from inside I assume?
