Actually there is some sort of fish oil thats meant to be real good at preventing rust/rot Linseed oil possibly?

Linseed oil comes from the seeds of the linseed plant, also known as flax.

In the old days in Cornwall, train oil, from the pressing of pilchards, was used for almost anything, due to its availability and low price.

I don't think it is available now, and it would probably have given your landy a very distinctive smell!

I spent 10 hours over a weekend a couple of weeks ago, tarp on the driveway,wire brushing, scraping, poking and applying a full Dinitrol Large Vehicle aerosol solution, and I can confidently state that Rejel make the longest lasting, strongest holding, hair wax around Bloomin good on the chassis too !!
