I've got them in the boot, but since I fitted Winter Tyres I've never used them. Got me up the mountain in France with 4" of snow on the road. police were stopping anybody without winter tyres or chains on.

Hmmm.... I wonder what sort of snow and ice it would take to stop a Disco or Defender wearing four sets of chains!

Might need to try that one day.

I think the reason for that is the chains hitting the front radius arms on tight turns.

I reckon that would make a BAD NOISE!

Chains on all 4 wheels are mandatory for the Croissere Blanche. Some manufacturers recommend on 1 set, but fit 4 on a landy.

It takes deep stuff to stop a Landy with chains, but just like mud or sand, when it's deeper than the ground clearance you'll stop.

iv got General Grabber AT2's on my 90, living in a ski resort they have done very well

I have had a week or so on General Grabber AT2s on the dry and wet roads, and they are fine. Not noisy, but cornering is definitely more twitchy than the big fat road tyres.

They were amazing in the snow, then the slush and mud.

Very pleased with them.
