Hello peeps,

I have a 300tdi 90. It has a safari snorkel fitted. I just woundering if you chaps run your snorkels connected all the time or just connect it up before deep wading? Or does having it connected up all the time make the engine have to work harder to get its air? cheers :)

I don't have one, but am pretty sure that once connected they stay connected

Would have thought (apart from being a pain) that they are best sealed and left well alone!

safari snorkels actually make the turbo a tad more efficient as it rams air into the airbox best to leave well alone once fitted ;)

cheers for the replies.... the way i would connected it would be.. push the 2 pipes together as one fits inside the other so quite a tight fit and theres a jubile which seals them together.. but as you all recommend it to be sealed and stay sealed i will put it together as normal but use use rvt gasket sealet to ensure water tight seal thanks chaps

Better off using tiger seal, can get from most motor factors as silicone doesn't stick to plastic properly.
