I have an old defender 110 with the mantec snorkel fitted to the wing vent on the lhs. The snorkel was on the car when purchased and has some damage and corrosion in different places, can i just disconnect the flexpipe thats on the back of the air filter, and then just buy a plate for the wing vent?? Im not planning on wading my main concern is just heavy rain gettin in with the damage at present. Cheers

What you need is an architect to design a plate...

Pretty sure you can with those. Although im not sure if they have mounting holes through the wing or not. If it was fitted right, it will probably be siliconed up around the wing. So be careful when scraping it off, so as not to damage the paint.

Thanks, after ive dissconnected the flexi pipe from the bottom of the air filter, is it ok to leave this open or is it best to buy some flex pipe and send it up into the wing somehow. Cheers

The flexi pipe is meant to go onto a plastic moulding that goes where the snorkel fits the outside moulding has a plastic mesh
