i know this has probably been asked loads of times so i apologize in advance.

I have a Disco 1 300tdi, can i use the 300tdi airbox to fit a snorkel or do i need a 200tdi airbox?

thanks for entertaining my daft questions.

Ya can keep the 300 air box or go to 200 air box it up to u. I made my own on my old disco and had 63mm stainles pipe. Then neoprene pipe from the stainless to the air box.sealed air box.sealed pipe and had a 63mm drain pipe elbow.

On my new disco i got a new safari snorkel and fitted that to my 300 air box.and is air tight now

Yes and I have a southdown snorkel. Far superior to the tacky looking safari thing! :monitor_punch::D

Although ripping the 300tdi airbox out to fit the 200tdi one so I fit a second battery as I can't atm with the way it's set up.

Plenty threads on here regarding snorkels and DIY snorkels (including my own ;))

I went down the Southdown route, as got the wing mount of ebay for next to nothing, and then a Ram intake for the top of the pipe, some flexi piping for inside the wing and made up the rest with steel piping.

I did go for a different type of air box instead of the standard 300 one....

But this caused me no end of problems with the engine cutting out - thought it was all the piping etc collapsing but the 300's need a lot of air and these boxes just don't allow the engine to breath properly, so in the end got a 200 air box from a breakers for a fiver....

Welded shut the little pipe on the top, and fits 'snuggly' with a second battery - I have never had any more problems of cutting out since.
