Having looked at a multitude of snorkels, including many today at the billing show today, I wondered are there any for the 110 defender that do not need holes to be drilled into the windscreen surround? I only ask as I have a nice original 98 110 CSW, and would rather not start drilling holes I case I ever need to let it go and want to return it to standard spec to do so. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but it seems to me that it wouldn't be hard to make up a bracket so you could reverse any changes made?

Don't know if there are any that don't need drilling. If I were avoiding drilling I'd just silkaflex the bracket to the windscreen upright.

Would think it would work...not tried it....yet.

what do you want a snorkle for? you dont sound like you intend fording rivers ,if you are worried about a couple of screw holes in the window frame !
Sika wont hold it on either , as the airflow is quite strong at window edge HTSH :)

Ouch! Didn't realise there was some kind of qualification before you were aloud to ask about fitting things, or that you'd be judged about what you might or might not intend doing once you did!

I'm sorry I do not qualify, or 'might fjord rivers'. The reason for asking the question is yes, if there is an alternative I'd rather not stick screws into an otherwise original and undamaged part of the car.

Christ, wish I hadn't bothered asking.....

Thanks Gary, I'll keep looking, think I have a sensible solution sorted.

Perfectly reasonable question I thought

A few months ago i was at a garage getting something and there was a rep from dingbro in there showing off some double sided tape thats used to glue the panels together on volvo trucks, he was quite determined that an inch square of this stuff would hold a cubic tonne off the ground, probably worth a call..

bit touchy aren't we? :hysterically_laughi

Thanks all for the responses, have a resolution, a bracket that secures to the front of the guttering.
