I'm currently debating fitting. Snorkel to disco 2, I'm not planning on dipping her much but I have herd that it would be worth fitting one , your thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks

If you are not planning on getting it in deep water, why bother with a snorkel?

Have you moved the ECU?

Cheers

I saw the picture of the cake..............very sweet..............Instead of rodders I might start calling you SAM.........:D

Yes, you can get extensions, from the bay of flea so I hear, but it would appear they only work with Manual cars, as the wires are not acceptable for Autos. As I understand it the seller is aware and may be fixing the issue.

So if you are going to get really moist and go deep, then it may be something to look at.

Have a look at where your air intake actually is.
Consider how often you will go that deep.

I fitted a snorkel to my 110 , I thought it would make it look more butch. It reduced my MPG quiet significantly. I recently had my 110 resprayed and I haven't bothered to fit the snorkel back on. If your thinking of getting it wet you will also need to raise the intakes on the axle and gear box breathers and make sure your snorkel is air tight. Personally I wouldn't bother. If I was going to cross Morocco again I might give it some more thought which might help to get cleaner dust free air going through the air filter. But even then I might just carry and extra air filter.
If you feel like fitting a snorkel, I would lie down till the feeling passes.

I learnt that the hard way! only think i dunk now is a good biscuit!

Yeah true D2 is a little more vunerable imo than the Fender.

Personally standard practice for me is to extend all breathers at least to the top of the bulkhead, only costs about £25 if that to do.

TD5s i believe its, x2 axles, TX box, Gearbox & fuel tank. Worth doing...

I have read and been told by a few mechanics (inc an ex LR one) that the TD5 ECU is actually waterproof. What isnt waterproof is the connections (red/black plug) and the wiring leading into them. What you can do is fill the holes in the back of the connector with some silicone, a thick silicone based grease should be enough to keep it water tight. If youre worried then you could use a light silicone sealant. This is providing the ECU hasnt previously been opened.
