That does look good!
I’ve been thinking of trying to replicate the military style snorkel for the drivers side as mine now has a 300tdi fitted. Could you post some pics of the arrangement under the wing please?
Do you know what the MP(V) means in the top corner of the windscreen? Mine also has this and I’ve often wondered.
I’ve never looked into the military history of mine but I do know it was FFR.
Cheers

Not got a clue what MPV means, I tried to find out before.

This is a photo (upside down while drying). Not that helpful I know. It basically is a near right angle and a bent intake pipe to connect to the or filter.

nice, it works well - i think coming out the top of the wing is an advantage as it doesnt stick out so is less likely to be ripped off

Hopefully no one wants to hang onto the upright though, it’s only held on by 2 flanged rivets.

Mine is a std plastic safari snorkel on a 300tdi , which although it does stick out of the drivers wings slightly more and has been hit a fair bit by branches when laning, the biggest issue so far has been the top being ripped off when it has been facing forwards. Seems branches like to get underneath it and get hooked on.

So be aware it could get caught, depends on where you want it to fail to keep the rest in place.

Cheers

I have a cyclone style top on mine and I have it ‘not to tight’ so that if it gets bashed it. Comes off rather than rips the side of my windscreen frame off!

I have a bungee going around the mast and hooked into the grille , then if it gets ripped off it hopefully bounces around and I see it. Seems to have worked 3 times so far. ..only ended up under the wheels once .LOL, but have ordered a spare one. as having it missing could be a PITA.

Cheers

The (V) is usually Territorials so I wonder if it is military police. In some instances I’d of thought they’d use the odd ffr.

I just remembered that mine has 3 holes in a triangular pattern and 1 hole in the centre of them which may have been for a rotating beacon. The holes are very close to the front right hand corner of the roof. There used to be a red wire stuffed in the screen pillar trim on the drivers side.....
Maybe the military police theory has some legs........

According to this LIST MPV stands for Multi Purpose Vehicle as Shimsteriom said
FFR is Fitted For Radio, but we already knew that one.

Which begs the question, why did they go to the trouble of marking it up as such? For example, they didn’t bother sticking ffr anywhere.........
Good list though.

That's just one bit of t'internet research, marra. What got me was why is it MP(V) with the V in brackets? It isn't on that list

Tbf it lists MP as machine pistol with no mention of military police....
I dunno. I have no real clue about the military and it’s acronymous shenanigans!!
I was just curious:) but now I’m all confoosed too:confused: ( and maybe just a tad squiffy!!)
:D
