Is it just a co-incidence that since fitting my safari snorkel ive noticed a reduction in mpg........just calculated my last 345miles and it came out at 25.5mpg...........(also have roofrack fitted but was regulary gettin 28ish before snorkel fitting)

Because the engine is taking in more air, it's burning more fuel because it has an ecu... whereas my 200 doesn't :D

Try filling up with your normal grade of fuel from a Shell garage? They claim a slight increase in mpg.... maybe worth giving it a go. Some people on here reckon supermarket fuel and certain brands can reduce mpg. Let us know if you do and what results you get. We are all tight arses!.... just wish I could get 56mpg like I get out of passat my tdi

Yeah, I agree. I really think this will make a difference, seems if I fill up at tescos theres a noticable difference in how quick the fuel gets used compared with the likes of shell/BP. i may be wrong but im sure you get more miles out of stuff like shell.

Oh and btw, 28mpg? anything over 20 is awesome.:D.lol

28 with a rack is good going.

when was it last serviced? I find a fresh new air filter soon gets the MPG back to normal.
