Has anyone any experience of the Safari "lookalike" ones on fleabay for £99......not that Im tight or anything!
Any good links to cheap Safari`s or anyone know who the cheapest dealer is at the moment?

I've looked at these but I've stayed away from them coz the top is fixed and correct me if I'm wrong but don't you need to turn the top round if driving through a snowstorm, very heavy rain etc?

The place where you will suffer with that safari type one is the type of plastic. The safari has a 20 year guarantee but those cheap ones will degrade in the UV from the sun and crack. The safari top also compensates for the fact that you fill your drain plug by having a top that filters out water and forces it out of holes in the front, back and sides. That copy has no holes so any water you get in it will end up in the air filter... or worse. And yes, barmatt was right, they get clogged in snow so you turn them around.

I think a cheap imitation of Safari snorkel is made by Bearmach ...
please have a look at their catalogue (page 12).

Genuine safari snorkel from Paddocks is £135 + vat, seems pretty good price compared to devon 4x4 at £206. I've had a metal un-branded one for a few years (think rebel 4x4) its fine in that it costs £60 and is very easy to seal but it dents, the plastic hose has split, once the powdercoating scratches it starts to rust and the brackets have snapped and been re-welded a couple of times. Considering the number of trees it has hit it's been a good buy. I'm gonna try a safari soon though (coz they look nice :D)
