Hiya guys,
Had an unpleasent experiance at a set of traffic lights yesterday, unfortunatly a freelander v6 broke down in front of me, which stopped all the traffic .
Then hearing the car behind me blasting his horn, by sheer coindience was a range rover, he was trying to squeeze past, i got out as he was going to hit my mirror.
He put his passenger window down, i asked him seeing we are all land rover owners cant we tow him out of the way.
His reply was " i wouldnt be seen dead, towing a freelander and he better get the pile of s*** out of the way before i push it out of the way," with that he managed to just squeeze past and drove off, you dont want to know what i called him.
I was gob smacked, i helped get the guy with the freelander to one side, he had actually run out of petrol, run him down the road to get some, came back, job done.

one question if i may does anyone else get this kind of snobbery between different models of land rover

Don`t worry about it, it was just probably a posh ****er who does`nt know any better.

Twot! Twot! Twot.:D

You get um everywhere. What you got to remember is they drive the RR cus they are compensating for something!!

I had dealings with a right twonk yesterday. I was driving to work and I was approaching a large roundabout where I need to turn right, well I say right but the exit is at about 4 o'clock. So on final approach and the lane splits into two, so I choose the right hand lane, makes sense yeah? There is nothing coming round so I can carry onto the roundabout. Just as I do, this twonk comes hairing up on the left hand side with his right hand indicator on. Huh?? And he cuts me up and exits where I'm going.

So now following this numpty off the roundabout we are approaching a smaller roundabout but again the lane splits. He chooses left but I'm wise to him now, is he going to do it again? Yes and without indication he goes round and leave on the right exit. I'm still following and was extravagent and used the indicator and the right hand approach lane.

So following him once more, he exits the roundabout and is now driving up the middle of the road. Finally he takes the second right, without indicator or braking. Fortunately I'm going straight on, but I know that our two roads eventually come together again so I wind on as much speed as I'm allowed to and hope he's not there before I am. Fortunately he was nowhere to be seen when I got there.

Oh, sometimes I wish I was the fuss......

All the time, and then i open throttle and see a big heavy range rover try and keep up with my lightweight, nimble and nippy freelander :D

They don't like that.

I was driving down to Weston super mud a year or so back. There's a section of road where it gets narrow so priority is given to the traffic heading TOWARDS weston. Some COCK in a Rangie decides he's gonna carry on regardless and bully the cars who have right of way out of his path and continue through. Unfortunately some bloke in a white 110 (INNOCENT WHISTLE!!!) wasn't phased by the thought of a shiny new rangerover bouncing off his winch bumper and remained on course. Funnily enough the driver of the rangerover suddenly found that the shiny new motor DID have brakes and a steering wheel fitted as standard after all.:D:D:D

i still cannot believe what he did,

only wish there had been a huge muddy puddle in the road and sent it through his open windows all over his nice shiny paintwork and suit, he, he , he.

Still i did turn that section of road blue with my swearing at him.

the only reason i helped was ive been in that situation and someone helped me and always swore i would help someone if i could.

would have loved to have been a fly on the wall seeing a range coming towards a 110 white angel with that nice shiny winch saying " lunch is a coming my child"

i did at first think of buying a range rover but after seeing that action am so pleased to be a very proud owner of my freelander, enjoying it and itching to get it off road nice and gently and slowly

kind regards

Hehe, you're the same as me then, my wife goes nut's with me but like I've told her, arrogant twonk's in shiny RR's, BMW's etc. seem to presume that they have more right to be on the road because their ride cost's a bit more, ultimately they've got more to lose than my old LR ... if they fancy their chances go for it, they all back off eventually;) ... and it'll be even more fun when I get the new bumper fitted:D

Was waiting at set of traffic lights a few weeks back when a Horse and Cart (Traverler person aboard it...) pulled up on the other side of the traffic lights.

Lights went green when this horse got spoked, Shat itself, Went on 2 legs and started running towards a little kid on the pavement. Whilst the bloke was trying to control the horse some **** in a new BMW decided he could not be bothered to do the decent thing and wait... So floored it, Stoped shouted abuse at the bloke and ****ed off up the road! Everyone else had stopped so the horse did not get anymore scared but this bloke was obviously too important. Oh how i would have laughed if that horse had decided to join him in his car

funny, i never get shiny 4x4s going anywhere near me, and i seem to always get let in!!!

I drive a truck for work and I wouldn't dream of using the size of it to intimidate other road users out of my way (except for BMW drivers cos they are ALL cocks). If someone in a shiny bling expensive car wants to play chicken with me when I'm in an older vehicle that will do a lot more damage than theirs can inflict on me, I'm only too happy to let them have their wish.:p

Sorry to hi-jack this thread....but what is it with RR and BMW drivers?
Last weekend out on me bike, with young son as pillion, BMW cabriolet thinks its funny to pull out in front of me at road junction...then floors it down the road in a futile attempt to outpace Japanese sports bike. Silly boy....
I dont think he liked it much when i passed him at full chat...a V-twin on open cans makes ones ears bleed, esp the occupants of a soft top!
Happened with a RR driver too a while back, but never with a BMW X3 or X5...odd.

wish i could have seen there faces when you went into the beer garden, would have been brilliant if there were aload of freelanders and blocked him in till you finished your beers and a 25 course dinner, lolol
