Hi,

Recently I've noticed a chuff coming from the engine. Then yesterday noticed more white smoke when pulling away after idling. I recall that last week had to put a decent amount of water into her.

I'm thinking head gasket, but spoken to local mechanic who seemed surprised if it was, although he hasn't seen the car yet.

Anyone got any ideas as to what else it might be please?

Many thanks,
Cliff

Pull Ya Oil Filler Cap Off And If Its Full Of Snotlike Custard Its Ya Head Gasket . No Snot Is A Good Thing . Mine Has Started To Do Same Thing And It Aint The Head Gasket How Ever I Noticed On Oil Im My After Turbo Pipe , Id Check That 1st .
If It Does Turn Out To Be Ya Head Gasket I Suggest Ya Replace It Ya Self Its Really Not That Difficult And Youll Save Around 400 Quid . Were Only A Phone Call Away If You Need Help Or Get Stuck

Also Check For Oil In Ya Coolant And A Minor Loss Of Power This Would Indicate A Fracture Internally On The Block (assuming You Dont Have A Pressure Test Guage ). Dont Forget To Top With Antifreeze Not Water .
Also This Cold Damp Weather Will Have An Impact On Your Emissions With A Buid Up Of Condesation In You Exauhst System , Its Just Like When You Breath Out On A Cold Mornin .

Any Probs Drop Us A Line And Ill Give Ya My Number

Thanks For Your Reply, I Was Beginning To Think No-one Cared!!
