hi i have a 90 turbo diesal. 1990. have a bit of a problem my landy i drive daily but it smokes like james bond smoke screen for a couple of mile after that it's clear the engine runs great but it so inbarrising when i leave work . i have been told of a couple of mates it's fuel leaking into the cylinder when its been park up for the day.it passed the m.o.t. so what do i need to do to sort it out and how do i do it.

hi mate,what colour is the smoke.

hi john mate . its white . the engine runs clear once it burns off that fuel after a couple of mile but when i leave work it has been sat for 12 hour it smokes like hell for about 2 mile then ok

hi mate you ok,one or more injectors are leaking,can you not take them out and have them cleaned and tested.

I give them a clean up and see how it go's do you know if it is a hard job to clean them up.

dont do it,take them out and have them done by a proper shop.then they can test them for leakages and spray patterns.

ok have to put up with it for a while till crimbo is out of the way.

Try running some diesel injector cleaner through them and add a litre of white spirit to your tank when you next fill up. It wont do any harm and may well clear the problem.

i try the diesal injector cleaner and white spirit mate like you say wont make it worse thanks for tip.
