at the minute I have 255 55 18 wheels tyres on my disco can I just change them for normal 205 r 16 which I believe are the right ones for my car

Try this site if yu want to see the effect changing tyre sizes will have:

Visual Tyre Size Calculator | Kouki Tech

If you're still keen I have a set of 5 205/80R16 tyres on Disco 1 steel rims, 2x Cooper discoverer (done +/-3000miles), 2 Michelin synchrone done +/-8000miles), 1 older michelin spare.... £200 ono!?

thank you but at moment I have alloys I should have said its a d2 thanks anyway

if you want 16" wheels you need 255/65 for 8j or 235 /70 for 7j... these are standard, but the 255/65 are the best
