Hi,

Can be an injector, a fuel pump, one of the turbo hoses ...
Certainly not related to the service.

There is one in the wheel arch, and probably one in the fuel tank.
What are the symptoms ?

Also if the mechanic doesn't know that car, it will take him a lot of time to fix it. If he don't know how to fix it should not take it in the first place.
He should also give you a price, for a starting issue, you should not pay more than 1 or 2 hours of investigation.

Is there 2 fuel pumps on freelander1?
on the td4's .. older models have 1 lift pump in tank .. 1 lp.fuel pump in engine bay + filter ..
later models .. lp. fuel pump and filter under o.s. rear wheel arch.
there's also a lp.fuel sensor as well [on both models]
.

Its mystery really car started fine he did full service n changed crank breather filter ( think its called that) n car became sluggish starting afterrwards. Hes not charged me yet as he thought he may have dislodged something. My mate said crank sensor ( think its that ill re ask him ) . Let u know when he finds the issue. Wish i could find local guy that knows landrovers . Darent go to landrover garage they would bankrupt me ha!!

Well 3 glo plugs changed 4th stuck... but fuel pumps both in frony engine bay bit. Not in wheel arch/or tank area. He plugged in diagnostics n my freelander code shows nothing . Just connected and a number he has no info on..he tried earlier yr n older but nothing n battery was full ndisconnected n re connected... strange car ive got ??? Just to say hes nice old skool mechanic so not a con artist he showed me the diagnostic read out or rather non read out lol
