what does the SLS warning lamp on the dash signify in terms of faults?

I replaced the suspension sensors and airbags a couple of months ago, all has been fine since then... now I'm getting the lamp lighting every now and then.

Restarting the engine clears the lamp. Any thoughts???

Just had the same problem on mine, basically the SLS pump had gone.

Would drive along and sometimes after about 5-10 Mins the light would come on (This fault shows that a request has been made to lift the vehicle but the vehicle has not lifted).

Switcing off and then restarting seems to clear the fault but built into the SLS ECU is a timer that after the pump has run for a period of time, will disabled the pump for about an hour (this is to protect the motor from continual running), therefore the fault will not re-appear during this period.

The Motor was actually working as I had it up and running by bypassing the SLS ECU however no air was being produced.

Repair bill was about £400 for new pump & fitting.

Hope this helps

thanks andy, I had a catastrophic failure of the air bags - where one exploded due to over inflation... scary!

I took the pump off and tested it during the replacement job a fwe months back. So me thinks i'll take it off and look it over again...

cheers
