Was all working fine....

Farted about a couple weeks back making my wash wipe work.

I now have a new switch at the steering wheel , i have a new wash wipe relay , i just replaced the brush pack in the motor, and a new genuine park switch,

Ive greased the wire and checked the wheel boxes to be free.

I have fast working fine and the wash wipe. But the slow wont work for me , it moves like 1/8th of a turn then stops.

Any ideas ? I only get 12v on the green wire on the top side of the stop switch and dont seem to get any volts on the other side. Which wires on the feed side should be live during slow wipe ?

Think the new switch or te new relay is duff gah!

Just a thought - if you connect the fast "supply" to the slow input at the motor, it will prove whether the switch/wiring or motor is at fault. Some motors have separate windings for different speeds (don't know for sure in this case).

For a Lucas 14W (without the intermittent relay and harness) it's along the lines of:

5 pin connector at the wiper motor end
Pin 1 Ground (B) to motor coil Blue from memory
Pin 2 Park (NLG) to park switch
Pin 3 Fast (ULG) to coil fast yellow
Pin 4 IGN (G) to park switch
Pin 5 Slow (RLG) to coil slow red

Turns out i had a few issues.

My relay was ****e

My switch also ****e.

Swapping relay for one from anotehr car and twisting the switch slightly in position 2 got it working, but only as long as i twisted it.

Went to open it up to see what was contacting as i twisted it. Its riveted

Junk.

They dont make this game easy :)

My wipers are screwed too, they start off working ok, then refuse to turn off, then stop being intermittent.

I have replaced the relay, park switch and stalk, so it can only be the motor.

Well , i thought the same i had all that stuff new... Motor was like new inside when i opened it to change the brushes , though one brush was snapped. Thought id cracked it then :(
