I've been chasing a consistent oil leak from the rear of my rocker cover and despite a new gasket and correct tightening of the nuts I'm still getting a bit of a mess leaking down the back at the injector side. If I sit the rocker cover on the head with no gasket you can see it has a slight warp and won't sit completely flush but it's not horrendously bad. I had hoped that this would be sorted by the gasket sealing it properly all round but it doesn't seem to. Any suggestions or am I looking at a 'new' cover?

That does sound like a cheaper option though. I was hoping there was another way without replacing the whole thing. Surely the rubber gasket should seal sufficiently even with a slight warp?

You would have thought so.
Do you have any back pressure exacerbating the issue?

Nope, I checked that and replaced the cyclone breather as well but still getting the issue of oil seeping out while I'm driving. It doesn't happen until the engine is suitably warmed up and its not excessive but it's a pain in the arse

Well, that's a positive!
I've just read on another forum someone advising to not tighten the cover down very much at all. You seem to have experimented with that though :(

Tried just nipping them up but it didn't seem to make any difference. They're currently torqued to spec but I think it more than likely will be a new rocker cover at some point in the future

Pribably been over tightened in the past, try blue rtv and the gasket
I think that's a cracking idea. Run some RTV around the inside of the rocker cover. (Not too much) Work out a way of holding it perfectly level and upside down first. (might be tricky if it's warped :() Let it set a good while, then refit with a gasket too. That might be enough to cope with the warp, if a gasket alone isn't.

just run a bead round the top of the head, gasket into lid then onto the cylinder head. Do you bolts. Literally just nip them up by hand they do not need tightening.
Blue rtv should take up the gap
