Hi guys - I'm on the search for advice again... Take, take, take. I've put a 200 tdi engine in what was a 2.5 turbo diesel and everything is running fine although the water temp seems to be on the high side. It's consistent and always stays the right side of the black divide - but I wandered if it should be dead centre. Has anyone else had this after converting as I wondered if it could be a calibration issue rather than anything wrong? Cheers. Paul. http://www.jdouk.com/data/watertemp.jpg

Try fitting a decent temp gauge and sender, preferably the VDO 40-120c one. It is possible your sender does not agree with the gauge, so fit a matched pair.

iv done the convertion and i baught a sender unit from steve parker an it was about a £10 and it fits the 200tdi and works with the defender temp guage, i do take it it a 200tdi out of a disco?

Got the same disco engine in the wifes 110 same problem as you changed the temp sender and stat for a defender one and still reads warm
