2000 disco with D1 CLD shifter , I changed the SLABS ECU from a 2003 donor result is TC and HDC lights stay on, hawkeye tells me " failure of throttle position signal". I read somewhere that my engine ECU needs to sync with SLABS. I only have a hawkeye and no dealer to reprogram . If reprograming is the solution does anybody know who , preferably in north América? Thanks
 
I think you only need to reprogram the new SLABS ECU if you have air bags.
I have an SRD500070 SLABS ECU from a Disco 2 TD5 and I installed it for
my Disco 2 V8 as a one for one ECU swap. No issues since I’m on springs.

Make sure all your connections to the new ECU aren’t corroded and then ensure the connectors are fully inserted.

Hi, that's not supposed to happen, at least didnt happen to me when i swapped such ECUs(not once).

Hi, there is no such function in the diagnostic protocol to sync the SLABS with the ECM, the only missmatch which can cause this symptom is that the vehicle's VIN is different and that can be changed only with foxwell or maybe testbook but as i said i've never had to do that, Are you 100% sure that the replacement ECU was in perfect working order on the donor vehicle? Also the old ECU gave you some fault or you just wanted to upgrade?

IIRC you should have "ECM data" section on hawkeye, what you see if you acsess that? also do you have "throttle" input in the live data section? if yes can you see any reading if you push the throttle?

As it mentioned "throttle position" I'm wondering if you need to check the TPS settings. Your 2000 model would, I believe, have 2 track where as a 2003 would be 3 track.

Im not sure the donor was good I opened it and didn t look as if it had water ingress etc . Now the original one was reporting 3 amigos and haweye indicated historical shuttle valve etc. Although I had replace the entire unit including a new shuttle valve and also grounded it plan "B" so now I don't have abs but the 2 amigos and scanner indicating historical failure tps error 4021 now when I go to live data as I press throttle its values increase . I do have an ECM data section with 17 items including year manufacture etc but they seem fixed value , will you explain pls?

Yes I ve heard about 2 , 3 track but I wonder if hawkeye is capable to allow me to manipulate this . What I have seeing is that if I press throttle % values go up . Any ideas?
 
As long as you see the TPS inputs in the SLABS and track 1 grows while track 2 drops when you push the throttle and the sum of them is equal with the supply but the SLABS reports a fault for that i'm affraid that the ECU is the problem, the throttle settings in the ECM has nothing to do with the SLABS and you better not mess with that cos the engine will run only with the proper setting( 2 track for Eu2 and 3 track for Eu3) otherwise it will just idle and log a TPS fault.

That ECU data as long as it's read only means that the factory settings are saved there so just for information no utility. You should try with other 100% good SLABS cos it's very suspect.

My mistake now that I read live data from slabs ecu it show 0.0 while opening throttle. It doesn't move. Does it corroborate a bad slabs ecu or trouble at throttle?
 
TRouble at throttle would affect the engine management in the first place, as long as the engine is running well there's no issue with the TPS, if the old SLABS ECU doesnt give the same fault and shows TPS readings the wiring is ruled out too so the only remaining suspect is the replacement ECU so put back the old ECU and see what happens
