I must always remember to check the simple things first!!

Thought I would check why both my front side lights stopped working tonight. I've just replaced both sidelight units complete.

I checked the fuse box. Power there. I thought the cables run up behind the instrument cluster to I took that out. Then I took the fuse box out to check the wire hadn't come off the back.

Thought I'd see if there was power at the lamp unit. I took the cover off and the bulb fell out. Went and checked the other lamp and.... the bulb fell out. (This was after 45mins pulling the dash and fuse box apart)
I twisted them back in properly. Then set about fitting my dash and fuse box back together feeling like a right plum.
Simple things first. Never assume anything.

Hehe..... yeah... next time i'll start at the lamps and work my way back through the car to find the fuse is blown....

Have to admit the chances of both bulbs coming out of both holders simultaneously is pretty amazing. Maybe I should play the lottery this week.

If they were both new units they were probably never properly in in the first place:rolleyes::rolleyes:
I may or may not have spent quite a while scratching my head when I put new lights on my trailer, only to discover that while the bulbs in the fog lights looked to be in the holders, they weren't seated properly:mad::mad::lol::lol:

best one was couple o weeks back, mate used workshop to swap his clutch as it wasn't working. gave him a hand separating the box from engine, then again lining it back up.

stood at the kebab shop counter at midnight, he says it still aint working right.

have you checked the fluid resovoir sez I?

oops........

I think we've all been there at one time or another :D

Admitting it is something else ....

It's called 'experience'! :) :)

Well, most fault finding starts at one end and ends at the other. Every now and again you'll find the fault at the far end but it's no reason not to do the job logically. You did the right thing so don't feel embarrassed!
