Hi All, I have removed my sills as part of my strip down. On the top of the sill the Metal rail inside the rubber is rusted. Is this part riveted to the sill, if so where can I get a new one, I need to replace the rubbers as well.

What's it off? My Defender 90 does not look like that. Is the rubber a door seal?

YRM Metal solutions sell the lip you refer to. I just purchased 2 and new seals. You are correct it has several holes in it and just rivets on.

Are these seals different on newer models? I would like to somehow fit a seal to the doors of mine, rather than the frame, so it doesn't get damaged so easily.

I think I dumped those rusty bits on mine ?
Fitted the later seal that attaches to the door..
I can take a PIC but it will have to be tomorrow morn cos its dark now.
Shout up if you do!

This is my off side second row door, front is the same thing but the ground was muddy by the front door so couldnt kneel there. They are held on with pop rivits.
The other pic shows the sill area with no trace of the old style seal and retainer.
