The main thing is it makes them look like some pikey tw-t has tried to get more power from it,whilst ignoring service intervals.... Or am I just being cynical because of the number of sickly,bodged TD5's I see now.
They look nice, but in terms of cost and performance you may as well stay with genuine.
They have their uses though, I use the moulded black ones on our show engines for water pipes.

you can get other colours too, they're the same Discovery TD5 Silicone Hoses | eBay ...IMO the benefit is that they dont 'delaminate' , are harder and last longer than the genuine ones ... i bought black to keep the original aspect of the engine bay

i changed intercooler ones for silicone, black you cannot tell really, as said don't de laminate
I had an egr hose go on a mondeo recently. A combination of age making it go brittle and chemical attack by the crap from the egr.
Silicone are more resistant to both these as well as de-lamination.
Ford wanted £71, so I went down't net and found a black silicone one from a place called Derby Performance Hose (dunno if they do them for Discos but will be finding out in the next few months) for £34 including VAT and postage. It arrived 2 days after I ordered it.
Silicone expensive? Must be buying from the wrong place.

I must be a sad man with no friends indeed. But (to paraphrase the late great Bobby Chariot) "bloody sod ya den" - I still have my Disco.
Just checked Derby Performance Hose website. They do a full turbo hose kit for 200tdi, 300tdi and TD5. The TD5 kit is £59-95 in blue or black. An extra £9 odd for red or green and an extra £13 for a set of fancy clips if you don't want to use the originals or jubilees. That includes "the dreaded" but I'm not sure about postage.
They should go quite well with the egr removal kit I just got from Paddock for about £27.

Pne of my original intake hoses on my D2 TD5 was delaminating, so I got a set of (3) silicone hoses - turbo outlet to metal pipe, metal pipe to intercooler, intercooler to inlet (plenum?) chamber. Already deleted EGR. Yes, the hoses were in pikey blue! ;O

That looks great. Had a wee gander at your website as well. Some great stuff on there. I served my time in heavy engineering. Some machines I used were real old school belt driven things, so I can appreciate the stuff you have on there.
