I have net even seen those before let alone fitted them. Are they bolted to the sill? Are you looking to make or buy, if making a loop of chain with a piece of pipe at the bottom (to stand on) might be better depending on your usage as then it is flexible so won’t bend and catch on things if you go off road.

Foldy new ones on eBay for around £40, and as they also brace against the chassis rail a bit stronger than the bent bar version but can still get caught off road
+1 for the foldy eBay versions.
Easy to ofit on the passenger side, a bitch on the drivers side as the tank in a 90 gets in the way.
Before fitting, rub them down and give them several costs of paint (tractor enamel of bedline) and apply lots of grease to the bolts.

atrent those cheaper ones for a defender not a series or would they fit

there about £15 online an bolt to the sill, i vaguely remember seeing landrovers with them as a kid, plus side is if i go off road its 2 bolts to remove them to avoid them betting flattened

I think they're the same, to check you want the defender floor spacing holes.
on mine I needed to fit a 8mm nutsert to the chassis to bolt the stay on

I will think you would be better with a length of chain bolted in the same place with a piece of pipe or similar threaded onto it and secured into place. that way if you do off road and still want steps you don't have to remove anything. That is what all the off-road trucks use, chain or cable so there is still flex.
I would also consider just fitting rock sliders that have side bars. although this is still the same height as the floor they make getting in and out considerably easier as you are only stepping up rather than having to step up and in with a single movement. It is difficult to believe the difference it makes without actually trying it but you might find that is all that is needed to ease entry and you are once again not compromising off road ability. it also has the added advantage of stopping inconsiderate people in bmw's opening their door into you as it hits the steel bar rather than the ali panels.
