Need help guys I've bought some bearmach 75mm side steps they are advertised as no drilling required and easy to fit unfortunately they aren't.

I've unpacked everything and gone under the car and found that the u shaped threaded bolt doesn't come back through the underfloor as the smaller hole is litteraly to small for the end to poke through

Then the side threaded bolts are supposed to be inserted into the sill and basically come back through the sill but again the hole is to small for the bar to fit

Am I doing something wrong?? Has anyone fitted these before as YouTube is a waste

Need help guys

if you feel the undersides (inner vertical part of the chassis) the holes are taped over and maybe undersealed over also as mine were, U'll fell it a bit softer than the rest and just pushes through with a screwdriver etc..

Cheers mate I've found the bigger holes to gain access but how do you push the u shaped threaded bolt through as the smaller hole looks like a collar that I can't extract and the hole is to small

Never fitted the steps but the hole on the right looks like it has a nutsert already installed. Will it take a bolt?

these type of sidesteps don't have nutserts mate they are all regular bolts .im supposed to use the u shaped theaded bolt in the 2 holes in the picture by inserting it through one and wiggling it till it drops down through the 2nd hole then attatching the bracket and bolting to it

Yup, but someone may have fitted a nutsert to the car before you owned it (assuming you don't own it from new).

If that's the case I'd drill the nutsert out and carry on with the new bolt.

u just wangle it into the hole so the thread is hanging down then bolt ya step upto it, post a pic of ya bolt just to makes urge it's the same

also make sure you use the correct holes as there are a number of them in the sil and not all line up correct with the step itself if found that when I did mine..

Cheers guys it looks like there was a previous step taken off and the rivibolts were left behind got a mechanic mate sorting the drilling out and fitting for me

Again thanks for the replys
