came out this morning to find a nice dent in the back door where some pikey had opened there car door on me...

Been looking into side bars but now want something thats gonna at least protect to doors... anyone got any ideas as there seems to be shed loads of different ones on ebay, and you guys know what works and what doesn't

Cheers

I would have thought side bars would not protect the doors from other car door damage:) , might be worth going to your local 4x4 shop and asking if they will let you offer up a set of side steps to see if that will do, as they stick out a bit further then the side bars...:D
If all else fails lie in wait and when you see them shout at them...

LR do a kit that sticks to your doors and front wing. I got a set and stuck them on my freelander - seems to have kept any damage to a minimum.

They were not too pricey (£56 comes to mind), and they are quite substantial. Just make sure your car is washed and alcohol wiped before fitting to ensure perfect adhesion.

I have also fitted stainless side runners. I got mine from John Craddock's as the OE LR ones from 1998 look very thin and genuine LR are very expensive.

The bolt on plain black look very tacky in my opinion.

Regards,

Steve.

just been looking at those stick on rub strips... thinking them and side steps will keep the buggers away.

Cheers

got a set of those stick on rubber strips off fleabay very good about £25 and look ok too about 15 min to fit...
