Have a strange issue with my 1998 P38a Range Rover, its a 4.0 V8 auto. Sometimes when I am driving (light throttle 30-50mph) it feels like the car is shunting/rocking back and forth. Not sure if its related but another issue is when coasting (so in drive, foot off the accelerator) if I need to quickly accelerate or hit the throttle pedal quickly there is a shudder through the vehicle, feels like the whole car shakes momentarially.

Anybody come across this before on a P38a?

Many thanks

Trans fluid is good as it was changed back in April along with the filter, issue was there before the fluid was changed though and remained after it was changed. Engine mounts havnt been changed.....yet

Maybe maf sensor. Sounds like hunting so may also be an induction leak.

Get some brake/carb cleaner and spray all inlet manifold gasket areas and pipe connections, if revs rise you may well have found your problem.

Don't spray near exhaust.

What's the idle like?
