Yeah they're 454ci

Haha I like that merkins phrase :D

They made 330bhp each in 1989, wonder what they make now?! :p

Less than 500 hours on them though so they've not done so much, she's 29'2" and weighs in around 3 ton, she'll make 60 odd knots on a calm sea, she jumps out of it when it's rough :D

You can tell she's got power though, the most amazing display of v8 muscle I ever saw was when we had 17 people on her (she's designed for 6) and she took off like there wasn't even a load on, just opened them up and with some grunt she pulled up and out of the water.

Incredible power from them big motors!

They are under rated for insurance purposes. ;) closer to 450hp at 6500 rpms, But that was in a car, the car was rated 350 hp at 4300 rpms as that was there best for gas mileage for EPA ratings

here's my project so far
going in my 2a project

Christ Noiseman!!!!!!

where have you been hiding those babies??????????

marine 454 - great, fantastic, smashing, very nice.

two of those!!!!! Very Jealous Griffman!!!!

That boat should be in the water - does it need a lot of re-commissioning?

Lovely little V8 Jason

more info please - 3.5 is it?

I can see you have the edelbrock inlet and carb

What cam you got i there?

many lovely parts gone into her
wanted to do something like this for ages and in the end decided to get on with it

purchased the components from Paul @ Rover V8 Engines, Parts and Services from V8 Tuner
man was spot on
ended up with new 3.5 block
phase 1 heads
crower high torque cam
edelbrock as you spotted
malroy dizzy ect
engine rebuild kit
double s stainless headers (polished them myself)
and the old 3.5 from out of her for other parts (now fully dismantled)

Nice one mate - given it will be going into a landie you have chosen your bits really well - torque camshaft rather than a screamer and hi-rise intake manifold being the keys to driveability.

You will love driving that little baby - very impressed.

Been out in the Stage 1 to day driving along the seafront, bit of back firing going on which made a few people jump

This is my latest baby, 1954 series 1 86inch fitted with a high compression P5 V8

Needs a bit of fettling as it has sat for a while but on the whole its very sound, i have got a 4 barrel carb to go on it for starters, just fitted my spare facet fuel pump from the Stage 1 as it was still running on the original series 1 pump which is a bit hit and miss to say the least, once up and running the old Stage 1 must go to make room
