My suspension has been bugging me for a bit now. Whilst not on the bumps, it does not raise and the off-road button does nothing at all. There is about 4 fingers between the top of the tyre and the wheel arch on either side which to mee does not seem like enough.
At first I thought it was the suspension bags themselves, but today have taken a look at the compressor for the first time and it seems to be inop.

With the engine running and the off-road botton pressed (doors closed via window of course) the compressor is making no noise and nor can I feel any kind of vibration from it apart from what I take to be that transferred from the engine via the chassis. So I think it's lookng like a new compressor may be in order.
Before I commit myself though I just want to check with you guys that the compressor on these does actually make an audible noise and I should feel it working.
Or would it be worth my buying a new relay first (all fuses are ok)?

*I tried the low range trick as well. This didn't work :(

the sound of the compressor/pump is readable especially with engine off

off course rule out the relay first..swap relay R5-compressor with R3- headlamp wash for test...it's not about all the fuses only fusible link FL9 in engine bay must be good

if no joy, to rule out the management remove relat R5 and bridge with a paperclip/piece of wire the contacts 30-87...if still no sound from the compressor then it's more likely goosed or quite unlikely wiring issue between the relay and the pump...

if the compressor will kick in with the bridged relay it means it's management issue and then we'll speak again,

if by any chance the central locking is making tricks or you get a misslock warning when you lock with fob that's a problem cos even if the doors are closed for the management one is opened and will disable the pump

if you are handy with wires you can do the ultimate test too and connect an improvised wiring directly to the compressor's unplugged connector, nr 1 attachment

OK, that's interesting. Recently the drivers door won't unlock remotely but will lock with the remote and I do get the horn sounding once occasionally when locking remotely. I'm pretty sure that the pump hadn't been working before that started to happen though.

**Actually, I've just found out this is normal becuase I've had teh bonnet open and I do need a new door actuator. All doors (apart from the drivers) work normally.

I'll try swapping over the relays tomorrow and will keep you posted.

Swapping over the relays and bridging the contacts didn't work. I'm ordering a replacement now.
Thanks for the help and at least it won't take long to swap over :)
